Soul singer Veronique made her debut on Detroit House producer Aaron-Carl’s Wallshaker Records.
Born in Maryland, raised in Detroit, Veronique’s musical gifts were evident at a very young age. A self-taught keyboardist since the age of 3, she began singing in her church choir at the age of 4. Eventually, Veronique moved on to direct the choir, and now serves as the Minister of Music for her church.
Comparable to other House divas like Dajae, Kim English or Ultra Nate’, Veronique’s uniquely earthy yet powerful voice has been described as having that “old soul” feeling. You can’t help but be moved. Her musical influences include gospel legends Kim Burrell, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Yolanda Adams, as well as R&B/Soul icons Chaka Khan, Stephanie Mills and Patti Labelle.
Veronique and Aaron-Carl sing their duet “Alright” Live @ Detroit Electronic Music Festival 2008.
