If you were to put David Firth, Wes Craven, Pink Floyd and Rocky Horror Picture Show in a blender, this is what you would be pouring into your cup. This three piece has an incredibly unique sound not likely to be found anywhere else. They have a peculiar story of how they came together that has many left in disbelief.
While searching through some music at a local record shop, all three were disappointed when the owner closed early due to heavy storms. So after the owner locked up shop, Paul saw a side door cracked open that led to the basement of the store. Intrigued at what could be in store for them, they headed down the stairs. Joseph started rummaging through some old horror movies, Paul, finding a box of records labeled “There is no dark side of the moon; matter of fact, it’s all dark” and Julio, who was looking through a small box filled of techno, all started small talk and became interested in the others findings. The three got to know each other and realized just how similar their tastes were.
It all started to click once they started up conversations of music, so the trio decided to collaborate. Once they met for their first jam session, it was decided that they would form a band and name it, Especially Good, for the especially good timing it was to have met each other. One of their songs, “Room Downstairs”, has been said to be influenced by their random stormy night meeting and the beginning of their musical career.
Especially Good is the kind of music that will leave your mind openly wondering, what just happened? in the most sincere and positive way possible. These three are a set of musicians you find yourself questioning yet thanking at the same time for bringing their artistic abilities together into one formation.
