Submerge is known as the original distributor of Detroit Techno but more than that, it’s an institution. 3000 E. Grand Blvd is not only a base of distribution, but the home of arguably the only techno museum in the US, maybe the world (if you know of others, please send us a message and school us on the competition)! So MSU Professor David Sheridan had the good sense to bring his class down to Detroit and make a stop at the Submerge! The students got to check out the history of techno, the inspirations for the music, and how distribution works. They also got a surprise talk from hip hop producer Nick Speed who just happened to be dropping through to work on a new hit single that you’ll hear about soon!
