Sunday, May 24 during Memorial Day Weekend, Alter Ego Management is proud to present “DJ’s and Backpacks” an all day party/picnic benefiting Detroit elementary school children at Z’s Villa, the historic house bar and grill at 42 Piquette St in Detroit. Running from 1pm to 10pm, the event features an array of DJs, from techno legends Juan Atkins (Cybotron, Model 500) and Carl Craig (Planet E, Innerzone Orchestra), hip hop marvels such as Nick Speed, to long time Detroit figures like Mark Flash and DJ Dijital, as well as Toronto’s incredible producer/DJ M-Rock among others. Admission is free with the donation of a backpack or school supplies to be donated to Backpacking for Success, a non-profit that seeks to give children the tools needed to help them succeed in school.

Z’s Villa’s will be preparing great meals including an entrée (your choice of a burger, kielbasa, or a veggi pita) and two sides for $6 with domestic beer for under $3.

The event is co-sponsored by Underground Resistance, Fusicology, and VitaminWater. Come on out and enjoy great music, dancing, food and fun while doing something good for the community!
